Joe Skalski
Background
& Experience
Joe is a partner at Large & Gilbert. He has extensive experience with estate planning, retirement planning,
business succession planning, tax planning, IRS representation and wealth
preservation and accumulation strategies.
A licensed attorney since 1983 and CPA since 1984, Joe practiced in Florida
for nearly 20 years before moving up to Atlanta and joining L&G in 2005.
Born a Jersey boy, he began his accounting career in New York in 1982 and
has practiced in the Baltimore- Washington area as a computer programmer,
systems analyst and CPA.
Joe has helped clients with intergenerational business planning, buy-sell
agreements, entity choices and formations, conservation easements, as well
as business sales, purchases and split-ups. One of Joe’s main focuses
is to protect clients against the risk of wealth diversion outside of the
family, whether through excessive taxation, outrageous lawsuits, or perhaps
a child’s divorcing spouse.

A devout fan of pro baseball and football, as well as college basketball,
Joe participates in fantasy football and baseball leagues. Now a great-
uncle, he also enjoys hiking, bowling, pug meet-ups, playing chess, and
traveling with his wife, Kim, (who is also with L&G).
