2nd Annual Large
& Gilbert Surety Professional Seminar
On
July 18, 2003, Large & Gilbert, P.C. held it’s 2nd
Annual Surety Professional Seminar at the Westin Perimeter.
The
seminar started with a continental breakfast and lots of industry
chatter. Gary Fortier opened the seminar with a warm welcome
and introduction followed by Rhonda Gilbert’s opening
remarks. The first information session was provided by Jerry
Davis, explaining how to minimize the impact on bonding of Retirement
Plans. John Beilsmith followed with his analysis of the complex
tax law changes.
After
a short break, renowned communication coach, Dr. Bill Lampton,
conducted a brief presentation on the use of effective selling
language. Through creating small groups, he got everyone involved.
Tom Savage had the final and most anticipated presentation –
the 2002 Trends Update titled “Have Contractors Hit Bottom
Yet?”. Everyone certainly hoped 2002 was the bottom, but
fear the recovery may be long and slow. The seminar concluded
with a lively question and answer period.
The
event was attended by over 25 members of the bonding & surety
community. All enjoyed and appreciated the information content
of the seminar.
